The Century NG has a prolific history that cannot be under estimated. The original rod series was designed in conjunction with Frank Warwick – an angling legend by any account – and it achieved an almost cult like status amongst a select group of carp anglers for whom fish playing ability is the most important aspect of a rods makeup. This NG rod model now boasts a whole plethora of technologies that could never have been conceived when the original NG was released.
As you might expect, this rod boasts significant improvements on the original – the first of which that you’ll notice as soon as you pick up the rod is the reduction in weight. However, the ultra-light weight of this rod doesn’t affect the rod’s power in the slightest, thanks to the use of 2K carbon weave from the butt section to the reel seat and 1K carbon weave from the reel seat to the first ring. The Century NG also boasts a stunning 1K twill carbon reel seat, too.
The SU (Stepped Up) version of the NG built in a 12ft 3lb test and 50mm butt ring gives you the ability to fish at distance but is perfect for most standard carp work and ideal for use on all mid-intermediate waters.
All of the rods in the range benefit from the precision engineering of Century’s CAD and CAM design and manufacture. ATT (anti-twist) and autoclave (eliminating test curve decay) are standard throughout the Century NG range.
